Annabeth took one hand off the wheel and smacked the back of her boyfriend's head.
He snorted once then jerked awake. "Gah! What..." He rubbed his eyes. "We here already?"
She smirked. "Morning, Sleeping Beauty. You're drooling."
Percy sat up quickly and wiped at his mouth. Annabeth's grin widened.
"Guess some things never change," She told him and his face reddened. "Yeah, we're almost there. Road's about to get bumpy, so buckle up."
"I am buckled."
Annabeth rolled her eyes. "It's a figure of speech."
"Can't you just say 'brace yourself'?"
"Don't be annoying."
Percy crossed his arms with a satisfied smile. "So I'm right."
In answer Annabeth floored the accelerator, shutting him up quick.
"Aaaaanabeth. C'mon, Wise Girl, it's time to get up."
Annabeth turned away with a groan. Her arms were hugging her pillow like a teddy bear.
Percy rolled his eyes as she went back to snoring. And she complained he was stubborn in the morning.
"See?" He told her. "This is what happens when you stay up all night doing architecture."
"That's incorrect grammar," She mumbled sleepily.
"I failed English last year, you shouldn't be surprised."
Annabeth snorted, though Percy wasn't sure if it was a laugh or a snore.
"Seriously, Annabeth." He stroked the hair back from her forehead. "You really gotta get moving."
"Zzz..."
Percy stood up. "Your siblings sent me in here to get you, and I'm not leaving till you're out of bed....Err not because they threatened to tie me to a chair and lecture for hours or anything." He made his voice sound harder. "So we can do this the easy way or the hard way. You choose."
"Zzz..."
"Fine," he reached for the covers and ripped them off. Annabeth didn't react until he started for her arm.
"Touch me and I knock you out." Her eyes were still closed, arms snuggly around her pillow but the threat was real enough.
Percy sighed--Annabeth was the most stubborn person he had ever met--when suddenly a different idea came to him.
"What did you say?"
Annabeth's voice was still drowsy. "Touch me and I knock you out."
"I'm sorry, what?" He asked. "I don't think I quite heard you."
Annabeth's mouth turned down, her eyebrows furrowing in irritation. "Touch me," She said slower than before. "And-I-knock-you-out."
"Sorry I just can't..." Percy hid his grin. "I can't seem to hear you. Maybe if you stopped snoring so loud--"
"I don't snore!" Annabeth bolted up in bed and gave him an angry look. Her blonde hair was a rat's nest.
"I don't know, Annabeth," he said innocently. "That sounded an awful lot like snoring."
"Well you obviously heard wrong then because I don't snore."
"I bet if I asked your siblings would tell me otherwise."
Her face turned red with fury. "Percy...."
He stole a glance at her pillow. "Huh. You might've been drooling to."
"I'm going to kill you!"
Percy's grin widened. "Invulnerable, remember?"
Annabeth sprang out of bed and Percy congratulated himself for getting her up. Then he quickly turned and ran for his life before she could jam her knife in his back.
